  • Andrew Lau

    Secretary General

    Andrew (he/him) is a junior from Singapore. He is majoring in Humanities, with a certificate in Data Science. On campus, he coaches debate for middle and high school students as part of Urban Debate League, and is also an Academic Strategies mentor for the Office of Educational Opportunity. He is honoured to serve as the second Secretary-General of Yale Model United Nations Singapore, and to be leading a conference in the country where his own Model UN journey began. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, running and cooking Asian food with friends. He cannot wait to meet everyone at the conference in March!   • Kyran Blau

    Director General of Operations

    Kyran (he/him) is a Chilean-American sophomore in Silliman college from San Luis Obispo, California. He is double majoring in Global Affairs and History of Art. Aside from being the Director-General of Operations for YMUNS, he is a teacher for Hemispheres and a chair for YMUN. In his free time, he enjoys watching foreign films or films by David Lynch, reading, thinking to the Yale Art Gallery, and playing basketball with his suitemates.   • Anna Calkins

    Director General of Committees

    Anna (she/her) is a sophomore in Morse College from Chicago, IL, pursuing a degree in Cognitive Science. She has been involved with Model UN since the 8th grade, both competing and helping run her high school's annual conference and now acting as the USG of Crisis for Yale's on-campus MUN conference. She is thrilled to be serving as the DG of Committees for YMUN Singapore! On campus, she is a member of the women's water polo team, the concert band, the climbing team, and her residential college council.   • Abby Zheng

    Under Secretary General of Branding

    Abby (she/her) is a junior in Benjamin Franklin College from Newton, Massachusetts. She is majoring in Architecture and Urban Studies, with a certificate in Chinese Language. She is excited to serve as the USG of Branding for YMUN Singapore! On campus, she is often frequenting Atticus, the Elm, and Willoughbys in search of a good matcha latte. In her free time, she enjoys reading, hanging out with friends, and trying new restaurants around New Haven. She is a true foodie and self-proclaimed food critic.   • Mary Kim

    Under Secretary General of Branding

    Mary Kim (she/her) is a sophomore in Pauli Murray College from Anchorage, Alaska. She is majoring in interdisciplinary Political Science, incorporating aspects of American studies and Ethnicity, Race, and Migration into her major. Outside of academics, she works as an associate editor for the Human Rights Journal at Yale and teaches for the Yale Education Tutoring Initiative. During her free time she enjoys cooking in her dorm and exploring the cafes and restaurants of New Haven. She is very excited to meet everyone at the conference!   • Elizabeth Steeves

    Under-Secretary-General of Delegations

    Elizabeth Steeves (she/her) is a sophomore in Grace Hopper College from Trumbull, Connecticut studying history and economics. Outside of YMUNS, she is the Brief Writing Captain for the Yale Undergraduate Moot Court team, a Yale tour guide, and tutors through Dwight Hall at Yale. In her free time, you can find Elizabeth on early morning hikes, working through an ever-growing TBR, or watching the latest season of Survivor.   • Julia Rosado

    Under-Secretary-General of Outreach

    Julia (she/her) is a sophomore in Morse College hailing from the far-away city of New Haven, Connecticut. She is pursuing a Computer Science major and Chinese certificate. On campus, she’s involved in women’s water polo and can be found at the butteries her friends work in or on the hunt for new study spots.   • Annie Gu

    Under-Secretary-General of Committees

    Annie (she/her) is a sophomore from New Jersey in Pauli Murray College studying Applied Mathematics and Global Affairs. As an experienced MUN delegate, she is ecstatic to serve as the Under-Secretary General of Committees for YMUN Singapore! On campus, she can be found analyzing eviction cases for the Economics Department, tutoring students in computer science with CodeHaven, or cooking up a feast with Asian Recipes at Yale. In her spare time, she can be found rating local restaurants, thrifting, or watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine. She cannot wait to meet everyone in Singapore!   • Andrey Sokolov

    Under-Secretary-General of Committees

    Andrey (he/him) is a sophomore in Berkeley College from New York City studying Ethics, Politics, and Economics. Model UN has been an integral part of his life ever since he attended his high school’s beginner-friendly conference as a delegate within the Chernobyl committee. On campus, one may find Andrey singing in the Yale Russian Chorus, reviewing college applications of first-generation, low-income high school students, and allocating university funds to student organizations as the Director of the Undergraduate Organizations Funding Committee.   • Oliver Li

    Under-Secretary-General of Logistics

    Oliver (he/him) is a junior from Reno, Nevada, pursuing a double major in History and Computer Science at Timothy Dwight College. He is involved in the running club and the fishing club on campus. Outside of school, Oliver enjoys hiking scenic trails, experimenting with creative recipes, and covering songs on the drums. As the Under-Secretary General of Logistics, he is excited to plan the delegate dance and is especially looking forward to meeting the delegates in the SPECPOL committee.     Chair

    Jessica Sabau (she/her) is a sophomore in Morse College from Ossining, New York. Transferring from the Honors College at Westchester Community College, she is planning to major in Global Affairs and is excited to pursue her passion for service and traveling. Outside of class, Jessica is a literacy tutor at the Augusta Lewis Troup School and a member of the Bulgarian Student Society as well as the Yale Adventist Christian Fellowship. She is thrilled to be serving as a Chair for YMUN Singapore and is looking forward to getting to know everyone, trying new foods, and watching a successful conference come to fruition!     Caleb Nieh (he/him) is a junior in Grace Hopper College from New York City studying Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering. Outside of classes, Caleb volunteers for Code Haven and works as a Teaching Assistant and Student Advisory Committee member for the Computer Science Department. Other than coding, Caleb works as an Intramural Sports Secretary and helps manage The New Journal’s website. In his free time, you can find him spending time with friends, climbing, trying new foods, and attempting to cook.   • Owen Xu

    Owen (he/him) is a Junior in Timothy Dwight College pursuing a double major in Statistics & Data Science and Economics. Besides academics, he is involved in economic research at the Tobin Center, data support at the Yale Law School, and works as a Teaching Assistant for the Department of Statistics & Data Science. Owen is originally from Mexico City, Mexico, and enjoys his free time running through New Haven, weightlifting, and eating.   • Rafael Sousa

    Chair

    Rafael (he/him) is a sophomore in Morse College from Massachusetts majoring in Global Affairs with certificates in French and German. He has chaired Yale's on-campus MUN conference as well as YMUN Latin America in São Paulo, Brazil. Outside of MUN, Rafael is involved in European Horizons, a Yale-founded European policy group discussing geopolitical events and politics within the EU. Rafael enjoys learning about new languages and cultures, and loves traveling to new places. Above all, he is excited to meet everyone in Singapore this March!     Andy (he/him) is a sophomore in Silliman College from New Jersey majoring in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry with a concentration in Structural Biology. Aside from Model UN, you can catch him rehearsing with Yale’s K-pop dance group Movement, at meetings with the Asian American Students Alliance, or whipping up milkshakes in the Silliman buttery. In his free time, Andy loves finding new pieces to play on the cello, cooking for his family and friends, making balloon animals, or napping in the grass around campus.
